The Pitt guida le nomination alla 78a edizione dei Primetime Emmy Awards, i principali riconoscimenti della televisione americana. Il medical drama di HBO Max, già vincitrice uscente nella scorsa edizione, ha conquistato 25 candidature, tra cui quella per la migliore serie drammatica e ben 13 per gli attori (con Noah Wyle candidato come miglior attore protagonista).

Con 24 nomination, la quinta e ultima stagione di Hacks (HBO Max) entra nella storia diventando la comedy con il maggior numero di candidature in un’edizione, battendo i record di The Bear e The Studio. La protagonista Jean Smart punta al quinto Emmy consecutivo e all’ottavo in carriera: in caso di vittoria, diventerebbe l’attrice con il maggior numero di Emmy.

In totale, HBO Max riceve 122 nomination. Nel computo delle nomination vanno considerate anche quelle dei Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, che oltre alle categorie tecniche includono anche quelle per il film (tv movie) e per le guest star.

Una buona annata per le nuove serie Apple TV: sul fronte comedy, Widow’s Bay ottiene ben 19 nomination, una in più della novità drama Pluribus. Nella categoria delle miniserie e serie antologica si impone la seconda stagione di Beef (Netflix) con 16 candidature.

Da segnalare le doppiette di Jason Bateman (Black Rabbit e DFT St. Louis), Colman Domingo (The Four Season e Euphoria), Laurie Metcalf (Monster: La storia di Ed Gein e Hacks), Nick Offerman (Margo ha problemi di soldi e Death By Lightning) e Matthew Rhys (Widow’s Bay e The Beast in Me) e le assenze dei favoriti Kathy Bates (Matlock), Paul Anthony Kelly (Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette), lo showrunner Taylor Sheridan (Landman e The Madison), Jamie Ball (Half Man), Cailee Spaeny (Beef), Jeremy Allen White (The Bear).
