Sono state annunciate le nomination per la 37esima edizione dei Film Independent Spirit Awards.
Sono idonei i film con un budget inferiore a 22,5 milioni di dollari. Oltre alle categorie tradizionali, gli Spirit Awards presentano una serie di riconoscimenti unici come la Miglior sceneggiatura d'esordio e il John Cassavetes Award (miglior film sotto i 500.000 dollari). La cerimonia di premiazione si terrà domenica 6 marzo 2022.
A Chiara di Jonas Carpignano ha ottenuto tre nomination (film, fotografia, montaggio). Zola di Janicza Bravoè il film che ha ottenuto il maggior numero di candidature (6), seguito da The Novice di Lauren Hadaway (5), The Lost Daughter di Maggie Gyllenhaal e Wild Indian di Lyle Mitchell Corbine, Jr. (4).
