Forse la miglior interpretazione del non eccelso Robert Taylor, nella parte dell'azzeccagarbugli venduto e tormentato. Il grande caratterista Lee J. Cobb interpreta il cattivo con la giusta dose di cinismo. La sfolgorante Cyd Charisse sfodera l'arma segreta (ma non troppo): le superlative gambe".
