Le vicende della giovane campionessa di surf Bethany Hamilton. Dopo aver rischiato la vita, a 13 anni, a causa dell'attacco di uno squalo che le porta via un braccio, Bethany tirerà fuori la determinazione e la risolutezza per superare il difficile momento ma, soprattutto, ritroverà la voglia di gareggiare e vincere tra le onde.
